About Us
Our core team of scientists consists of Dr. William Ehringer, a former university professor and biomedical physicist and Kristyn Smith, a bioengineer, who discovered how to apply a liposomal ATP delivery technology in skincare.
Dr. Ehringer's patented discovery marks the first time in cosmetic, skincare history that science has isolated and returned the skin's cellular fuel, ATP. ATP is needed for a myriad of functions in the skin, a key action is the formation of collagen and elastin that the skin loses with age keeping the skin youthful and supple.
Cosmetic Science takes a leap forward with SKIN | ATP™
Co-Founder and CEO
William Ehringer, Ph.D.
Dr. William Ehringer is the Co-Founder and CEO of SKIN | ATP™, the world’s first and only cosmetic manufacturer to use his patented liposomal adenosine-5’-triphosphate delivery system (ATPv). Prior to forming SKIN | ATP™, Dr. Ehringer was an Associate Professor conducting Federally-funded research in the areas of cell energy production during hypoxia or ischemia, vascular permeability, tissue preservation, organ preservation, and wound healing. His discovery of a method to encapsulate and deliver ATP and other nucelotides directly to the cytosol of cells has led to an alternative approach to cell survival during hypoxia or ischemia. Dr. Ehringer has published more than 45 peer-reviewed manuscripts, and presented over 100 abstracts at international and national conferences. He has 3 US and 8 foreign issued patents, and 4 US patents pending based on his research. Based on his years of research and testing of how ATP delivery can be useful in cosmetic applications he has successfully co-developed a new skin care line of products.
Co-Founder and COO
Kristyn Smith, MEng
Kristyn Smith is the Co-Founder and COO of SKIN | ATP™. Kristyn holds a master’s degree in Bioengineering with experience in the fields of tissue engineering, microfluidics, biotechnology, and the medical device industry with experiences with both FDA (21 CFR 820) and ISO regulations (ISO 13485). She has held key roles in Research & Development, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance departments. She has over 10 years’ experience working with liposomal-ATP based products and was crucial in the research and development of a product that culminated in the successful FDA clearance of a medical device. Kristyn has co-authored several book chapters about the use of liposomal-ATP technology in the field of Hair Restoration Surgery. Kristyn has a passion for skincare and brings her scientific expertise into the research and development and manufacturing of SKIN | ATP™ products to marry her passions of skincare and science.
